Charter for the Coyote Crisis Collaborative (Revised 10/5/11)

The Coyote Crisis Collaborative (the Collaborative) is a nonprofit, multi-disciplinary center designed to promote and support local community disaster response planning and exercises within the State of Arizona. The mission is to provide tools, experience, education, and information to facilitate continuous improvement for community disaster preparedness and response. The primary functions are to 1) foster local and regional alliances to address specific needs, 2) plan and facilitate exercises (workshops and tabletops), 3) provide tools, technology, and relevant expertise, and 4) publish Best Practices, findings, and other materials. By engaging multi-disciplinary factions, the Collaborative serves as an incubator to harness ideas and technologies and enable cross-pollenization of concepts.

The primary stakeholders in the Collaborative include corporations, educational institutions, healthcare organizations, municipalities, and the military. These stakeholders collaborate with government agencies, allied industries, and associations also represented on the Collaborative. The Collaborative encourages stakeholder use of Homeland Security guidelines – such as the National Incident Management (NIMS) and Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) guidelines – for utilization of common terms and practices during exercise planning and reporting.
